The Great Commission

Jesus commands us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” As such, Maranatha places a high regard on both home and foreign missions, where the gospel is touching lives and reaching new lands for Jesus Christ.  We give to the Home Missions Fund to help support local church planting through the Southeastern District, and we give to the Great Commission Fund of the C&MA to help provide for the work of missionaries around the world.

Missions Conference

Every year Maranatha hosts a Missions Conference to create more awareness of missionary work around the world and to challenge each of us to greater participation in the Great Commission.  The conference usually takes place in February or March.  During that time we will be joined by missionaries who have worked, or who are working, in various places all over the globe who will share their experiences and challenge us to greater missionary awareness and involvement.

Short-Term Missions Trips

Maranatha wants to be involved with The Great Commission beyond our giving.  From time to time opportunities arise for a group to go to other places to serve in meaningful ways in the work of Christ’s kingdom.  These trips serve to sensitize the participants to the reality of Christ’s mandate in Matthew 28:19,20.
