Missions

We have a very high regard for the work of missions, particularly foreign missions where the gospel is reaching new lands for Christ.  Consequently, we actively give to provide for the work of missionaries around the world, through the Great Commission Fund of the C&MA, and to the Home Missions Fund to support local church planting through the Southeastern District.  There are other missionaries that we support individually as well.  In addition, we are in the process of planning some short-term missions projects (home and abroad).  Please stay tuned for more specific information regarding these ventures.

Missions Conference

Every year we host a Missions Conference to create more awareness of missionary work around the world and to challenge each person in the church to greater participation in the Great Commission.  The conference usually takes place in February or March of each year.  During that time we’ll be joined by missionaries who have worked, or are working, in various places all over the globe.  They’ll share their experiences and challenge us to greater missionary awareness and involvement.

It’s almost time for our annual Missions Conference and, as always, the Lord has brought a terrific team of missionaries together to speak about their experiences and to challenge us to become more missions minded.  The Mission Conference will take place during the week of March 11 through 18, 2012, featuring missionaries on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and the following Sunday.

The following is a schedule of our 2012 Missions Conference:

Short-Term Missions Trips

We also want to be partners with the Great Commission beyond our giving.  So, from time to time we desire to grow in our appreciation for missions by going to other places that we may serve in meaningful ways in the work of Christ’s kingdom.   We are continously looking for short-term missions experiences that will help us accomplish that goal as we pursue one of our church’s main purposes of reaching the world for Jesus Christ.
